Alzheimer y su influencia en el comportamiento familiar de un adulto mayor de 79 años del cantón valencia de la provincia de los ríos

In this work, the way in which Alzheimer's influences the behavior of the family of an adult older than 79 years will be revealed, because the mental health of both the family and that of the older adult is considered substantial, for this it is proposed work with a holistic approach, encompassing systemic family therapy and the geriatric setting. The problem lies in the family conflicts that the elderly adult has at home, since in his past he was an aggressive person with family members and now with the disease he is suffering, he is unable to obtain an understanding of the family nucleus since there is still a certain rancor, for this reason he proposes to work with systemic family therapy. Alzheimer's disease is a neurodegenerative pathology, the same one that consists of the loss of the skills that the elderly adult has learned in the course of his life, the psychologist plays an important role within the psychological treatment, for that reason he will work with techniques psycho-therapeutic treatments from the geriatric setting so that cognitive deterioration progresses slowly. For the collection of information, various psychological techniques were applied: psychological interview, clinical observation, and medical history, which allowed the respective psychological diagnosis to be made.
