Taking vital signs showed blood pressure 92/60mm Hg, heart rate 95rxm, respiratory rate 25rxm, oxygen saturation 98%, body temperature 40ºC with a weight of 22kg and a height of 110cm. A peripheral line is placed and IV paracetamol is administered to lower body temperature and treatment with broad-spectrum antibiotics. Physical assessment is performed using Marjorie Gordon's functional patterns in order to identify dysfunctional patterns that are compromising the patient's state of health. For this reason, the Nursing Care Process was elaborated in order to provide the adequate care required by the patient during their hospitalization, and thus meet the objectives proposed in this case study. |

For this reason, the Nursing Care Process was elaborated in order to provide the adequate care required by the patient during their hospitalization, and thus meet the objectives proposed in this case study.El presente caso clínico está enfocado en paciente de sexo masculino de 5 años de edad por presentar cuadro clínico ± 3 días de evolución caracterizado por hipertermia de 40ºC, diaforesis, dolores articulares, odinofagia, eritema, supuración purulenta, sensibilidad y calor en masa palpable localizada en el lado izquierdo de la región infrahioidea del cuello. A la toma de las constantes vitales se evidenció una presion arterial 92/60mmhg, frecuencia cardiaca 95rxm, frecuencia respiratoria 25rxm, saturación de oxigeno 98%, temperatura corporal 40ºC con un peso de 22kg y una talla de 110cm. Se coloca vía periférica y se administra paracetamol I.V para bajar la temperatura corporal y tratamiento con antibióticos de amplio espectro. Se realiza la valoración física empleando los patrones funcionales de Marjorie Gordon con la finalidad de identificar cuáles son los patrones disfuncionales que están comprometiendo el estado de salud del paciente.
