Afegir etiqueta | Sumari: | The aim of the present clinical case was to improve the nutritional status of the 33-year-old patient with gestational diabetes. Gestational diabetes (GD) is defined as carbohydrate intolerance, causing hyperglycemia of variable severity that begins or is first examined during pregnancy, whose prevalence in general can reach 10 to 20% of cases per year in high-risk populations, such as ours, which has an ethnic risk factor due to being Latin American, or Hispanic in the Anglo-Saxon environment. A systematic bibliographic review was carried out. In the development of this study, the nutritional status of the patient was determined through the application of anthropometric, biochemical, clinical and dietary methods, with which gestational diabetes and excessive weight gain during pregnancy were initially diagnosed. In view of this, the nutritional plan to be followed was prescribed and finally it was concluded that the general objective of the present case was achieved through the nutritional follow-up of one month. |
