Sumario:The investigative process was carried out having the need to establish the incidence in digital media in the habit of reading in the students of the Social Communication Career of the Technical University of Babahoyo Extension "Quevedo", which has been considered as study population to the 50 students who belong to the career of Social Communication, considering the lack of reading habits occupying greater privilege to digital media. In the development of this work, different analyzes will be taken into account, among them the design, methods, types and techniques are considered to guarantee true results that can obtain better investigations with greater nature and benefit future inquiries. With the results that were carried out, it was possible to verify that digital media are very essential in the students of the Social Communication Career of the Technical University of Babahoyo Extension "Quevedo" where it was observed that students can access these digital media, but they neglect reading habits, which is why students are encouraged to update themselves in digital media but at the same time put reading into practice, since it is very important in our daily lives.
