Riassunto:Nephrotic syndrome is used to identify various disorders that occur at the renal level, generally based on damage to the small blood vessels contained in the kidneys, which help filter the blood of toxins and excess water. This pathology is more common in childhood where susceptibility is more pronounced and requires specific care necessary to improve the patient's quality of life. This clinical study was conducted in a 6-year-old patient was diagnosed with nephrotic syndrome, through data collection that was possible during his hospital stay. The interest in this topic arose from my experience in the hospital setting where several questions about pediatric care and nursing interventions were evident when developing a treatment plan appropriate to the patient's needs. For the present case study, we used a male pediatric patient, from the province of Los Ríos, resident of Babahoyo canton, who came to the Emergency Department, accompanied by his parents, with a clinical picture characterized by the presence of palpebral edema. It generalized to the face, upper and lower limbs, accompanied by asthenia, unquantified thermal elevation and, giving rise to an initial diagnosis of infectious cystitis, but after clinical analysis it was detailed that it would be a case of nephrotic syndrome. With the development of this clinical case, it was possible to apply the Nursing Care Process involving taking charge of the nursing diagnosis, enabling the nurse to grasp the potential pending deficiencies in order to plan a work to improve the clinical condition of the patient.
