Description
Summary:During pregnancy the physiological changes that the body of the women goes through are the first cause of the decrease in hematocrit (35% - 36%) and hemoglobin (11g / dL - 12g / dL), at values that are considered relatively normal for this condition, but in developing countries, this obstetric complication is one of the main ones related to maternal-fetal morbidity and mortality, and the most common type of this pathology is due to feeding with low concentrations of iron. The present research work was conducted retrospective-quantitative in order to establish the relationship of gestational anemia with maternal-fetal complications in patients treated at the Hospital Alfredo Noboa Montenegro, Guaranda-2017, through the search of data in the clinical histories of the patients treated in this hospital unit; from this the following results were obtained: the incidence of gestational anemia in patients treated at the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital during the year 2017 was 23.97%, the most frequent maternal complications were urinary tract infection 11.71% and rupture premature membranes 48.57%, while the most frequent fetal complications were prematurity 32% and low birth weight 10.86%. In view of the fact that the results showed high values in the incidence of the disease, the application proposal was raised with the aim of decreasing the morbidity and mortality rates due to gestational anemia through the socialization of preventive measures to pregnant women who come to the Alfredo Noboa Hospital.
