description Chronic Kidney Failure (CKD) is a kidney condition derived from the gradual decline of the nephrons, which are the fundamental components located in the cortex of the kidneys. This condition causes a gradual deterioration of the kidneys, evolving towards End Chronic Renal Failure (ESRD). If the pathology is not treated in a timely manner, it can lead to the death of the patient, depending on the progression of the condition. The general objective of the study was to understand the nutritional care process in CKD. This was a 62-year-old male patient with 80% physical disability, diagnosed with CKD for which he underwent dialysis 3 times a week. He went to the doctor for low back pain, left inguinal hernia and pain. Due to his pathological condition, the doctor refers him to a nutritionist to receive therapeutic diet treatment according to his needs. The results allowed us to conclude the following: after two months, favorable responses were observed in the patient, one of them being that he increased his weight significantly, going from 49 kg to 52 kg. On the other hand, their BMI improved, currently being within normal values for adults over 60 years of age; Likewise, urea levels were significantly reduced and there was a slight improvement in creatinine levels. Regarding the physical/clinical signs, the patient reflected positive changes; in terms of diet, the adult has followed a dietary regimen appropriate to his needs.
