Riassunto:This clinical case study developed at Hospital IEES Babahoyo focuses on the application of the nursing care process in an adult patient diagnosed with chronic subdural hematoma, which consists of the "old" accumulation of blood and decomposition products between the surface of the brain and its outermost layer (dura mater). This is a descriptive, cross-sectional study whose objective is to provide nursing care to improve the patient's current state of health. Based on the cephalo-caudal assessment, by Marjorie Gordon's functional patterns and complementary examinations performed by the nursing professional together with the other members of the multidisciplinary team, it was possible to identify the user's dysfunctional patterns and to establish 9 nursing diagnoses, of which acute pain and deterioration of urinary elimination were prioritized. From this, nursing activities were established to respond to each of the patient's needs and after 9 days of hospital stay and together with the hard work and commitment of the nurses, the patient's health was restored and he was discharged in optimal conditions.
