SUMMARY In the present research the efficacy of three chemical insecticides and three biologics insecticides for borer control is evaluated pussy (Elasmopalpus lignosellus) Hope parish, canton Ibarra, Imbabura province, in order to determine the biological insecticide or more effective chemical control borer cultured lupine, evaluate the agronomic performance of each of the treatments and economically analyze the treatments. The design of randomized complete block (DBCA) with seven treatments and three replications. The total area of the experiment was 812 m2, plot of 525 m2 experience, useful area 25 m2, the distance between roads and repeats 1 m, 0.80 m between rows and between plants 0,40m. Number of attacked by borer larvae number found at the end of the study, incidence of borer attack, effectiveness of insecticide, plant height, number of pods per plant, weight and yield per plant production plants: The variables were evaluated. Economic analysis was performed based on performance (kg / ha) and the cost of each treatment. All variables were subjected to analysis of variance and Duncan test at 5% was used to determine statistical difference between the means of the factors and interpretation. The experimental results showed that: the average of the different variables presented positive significant difference, marked by insecticide biologic treatment Beauveria bassiana on other insecticide treatments applied and compared with the control; Beauveria bassiana insecticide (200g / ha) had the highest percentage of effectiveness in achieving significant results versus control and other treatments. In addition to the treatment of insecticide Beauveria bassiana significant economic profit $ 8,186.82 where the (control) received $ 1,301.92 insecticide applications were made to the 20.60 and 80 days was achieved, the evaluations were performed before applications and after. For future research it is recommended to seek other organic insecticides that can be used in other crops have a better performance.
