Importancia de la catedral de Babahoyo para el desarrollo del turismo religioso

This study analyzes the relevance of the Babahoyo Cathedral as a potential source of religious tourism and its impact on the local economy and culture. It is identified that the lack of tourism promotion has limited growth in the canton, affecting the generation of resources and the development of new marketing strategies appropriate to the research objective, which is to identify the importance of the Babahoyo Cathedral in developing religious tourism. The results show that the majority of respondents recognize the importance of the temple. The study uses a mixed methodological approach, utilizing surveys and interviews to obtain more relevant and effective data. It also considers documentary research to consider data collection from the perspective of the study's objective. The analysis presented shows that better implementation is also needed in initiatives that allow for enrichment within the local heritage, which generally indicates that the Babahoyense community is willing to promote religious tourism. For this initiative to be carried out and achieved success, sustainable development and alignment with values must be guaranteed.
