Sumari:The present clinical case analyzes a 26-year-old patient with an ectopic pregnancy who goes to the Emergency Area of the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital accompanied by her mother around midnight due to presenting symptoms such as constant abdominal pain in the hypogastric area, vaginal bleeding, vomiting. and stunning. It is worth mentioning that the doctor in charge of the Emergency Area night shift established pharmacological treatment to relieve abdominal pain and general discomfort; however, she did not have the expected results because the next day the pain increased, for which she was admitted to the health institution. The objective of the case is to apply the nursing care process through the analysis of the patient's medical history in order to improve the altered functional patterns. The tests performed are physical, blood, feces and urine, transvaginal ultrasound, the results indicated intense abdominal pain on the right side, slight vaginal bleeding, infection and whitish discharge with a bad smell; In addition, alteration of certain functional patterns, reasons for which, the respective pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment is applied, which consists of: balanced diet plus liquid, rest, control of edema and vital signs, paracetamol, metoclopramide and exploratory laparotomy. During the controls, the patient presented pain due to the surgical incision, muscle weakness and nausea. The interventions performed were satisfactory because they allowed the patient to recover quickly and without complications.
