El desarrollo de una sociedad globalizada permite que la difusión periodística se convierta en un proceso de aprendizaje para la ciudadanía y para la toma de decisiones. Los usuarios digitales pueden convertirse en creadores de noticias y perspectiva crítica a través del análisis, la comprensión y la aceptación de los mensajes que se comunican. La prensa digital también se convierte en un conducto para estas difusiones que posibilita la construcción de acuerdos y la toma de decisiones en un determinado sector. En la actualidad, se abre el uso de diferentes medios de comunicación, la capacidad de transmitir un mensaje de varias maneras y en la que el periodista debe ser capaz de distinguir los mensajes, para que la información sea verdadera, debe presentarse de manera objetiva.
