| Sumario: | This research examines the influence of game-based learning on the psycho-emotional development of 4th grade students of General Basic Education of the Juan E. Verdezoto Educational Unit of the Babahoyo cantón during the period 2024. The study is based on recent research that shows that approximately 60% of basic education students have difficulties in their socio-emotional development, a situation that has intensified in recent years. In Ecuador, specifically, 48% of basic education students show difficulties in their psycho-emotional development, manifested mainly in problems of emotional self-regulation and social skills. The research adopts a mixed approach, combining qualitative and quantitative methodologies, with a non-experimental field design. The study is carried out with a total population of 36 participants, made up of 28 4th grade students, 3 teachers and 5 directors of the institution. For data collection, Likert-scale surveys for students and teachers, and structured interviews with principals will be implemented, using instruments designed to evaluate both the implementation of game-based learning and its impact on psycho-emotional development. The expected results of this research project significant improvements in the psycho-emotional development of students, particularly in aspects such as emotional self-regulation, social skills, self-esteem, and collaborative work capacity. It is anticipated that the findings will demonstrate that the systematic implementation of game-based learning constitutes an effective pedagogical strategy to strengthen the comprehensive development of basic education students. |
