Anorexia nervosa is the most frequent cause in adolescence (women). In the past, anorexia nervosa was known as a disorder of eating behavior. |

Antiguamente la anorexia nerviosa se la conocía como trastornó de la conducta alimentaria. La anorexia es reconocida actualmente por la población como un signo de alerta en cual se puede presenciar en el paciente una exagerada "pérdida del apetito;" sin embargo, en algunos pacientes presentan hambre, del mismo modo tienden a rechazar los alimentos, debido a que presentan temor a aumentar de peso , confundiéndose frente al espejo. Las manifestaciones clínicas de la anorexia nerviosa son multisistémicas debido a que existe variación en todas las partes del cuerpo desencadenando la malnutrición, ocasionando daños irreversibles.
