| Итог: | Ecuador faces the challenge of sustainably managing the waste and by-products generated by the agro-industrial sector, a key pillar of its economy. The inefficient accumulation of these wastes not only causes negative environmental impacts, such as water pollution and the emission of greenhouse gases, but also represents a loss of resources with high energy and agricultural potential. In this context, the present research analyzes the efficiency of various technological processes for the valorization of agro-industrial waste for the production of renewable energy and fertilizers. The study addresses the classification of the main types of agro-industrial waste generated in Ecuador, with an emphasis on by-products from the sugar, dairy, and banana industries—sectors of high national relevance. Based on a technical and scientific analysis, conversion technologies such as anaerobic digestion, gasification, direct combustion, and the production of biofertilizers through composting and digestates are identified. Their efficiency levels, environmental impact, and economic feasibility are compared to determine the most optimal alternatives within the Ecuadorian context. Moreover, the valorization of agro-industrial waste in Ecuador represents a key strategy for promoting the country’s sustainable development. This study provides a reference framework for the implementation of efficient technological solutions. Likewise, it highlights the importance of establishing public policies that promote the use of these technologies, as well as the technical training of the stakeholders involved. Strengthening partnerships between the public, private, and academic sectors is essential to ensure an integrated and sustainable management of agro-industrial waste |
