| Özet: | Bovine tuberculosis is caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium bovis, which is a zoonotic disease, because people can become infected by inhaling contaminated aerosols or eating unpasteurized milk from infected animals. In addition, the signs that occur in infected animals are pneumonia, fluctuating fever, weakness, lack of appetite and weight loss, thus reporting it as a public health problem. The objective of this study was to determine the incidence of Mycobacterium bovis in dual-purpose cattle from the Isla de Bejucal parish of the Baba canton, thus bovine tuberculosis and its incidence were evaluated through the correlation of the different variables; according to age, sex, racial group and origin; in addition to developing complementary tests in case of suspicious and positive reactions to bovine tuberculosis through the cervical test with PPD M. bovis and PPD M. Avian. This research work used the descriptive method of experimental observation, which was based on the percentage method to determine the percentage of incidence of Mycobacterium bovis, taking the following parameters, confidence 95% and error 5% and using a calculation of the sample size, the total number of animals to be tuberculized was estimated, which was (No. 339) bovines, which was obtained from a population of 2841 bovines that exist in the Isla de Bejucal parish, on the other hand , the result was that of the 339 bovines tuberculinized with Purified Protein Derivative (PPD) M. bovis, through the anus-caudal application technique, 0 cases of sensitivity to PPD were reflected, which represents 0% in positive cases, 0% in suspicious cases and 100% in negative cases. In conclusion, during the study on the diagnosis of bovine Tuberculosis carried out, there were no sensitivity reactions to (PPD) M. bovis, considering that the samples estimated in this study were negative for the disease and that they contribute as a reference that cattle products As milk and meat are apparently free of Mycobacterium bovis, however, biosafety measures must continue to be implemented to maintain health on the different farms. |
