Resumo:This research focuses on determining the presence of Feline Coronavirus (FCoV) in cats treated at the Hospivet Babahoyo Veterinary Hospital in the city of Babahoyo, Los Ríos. The study falls within the research line of Human and Animal Health, under the sub-line of Veterinary Public Health. The main objective of this research was to diagnose the presence of Feline Coronavirus through serological tests for antibody detection in the felines treated at Hospivet Babahoyo Veterinary Hospital. Additionally, clinical signs associated with positive cases were identified, and correlations between variables such as age, sex, and weight were analyzed. For diagnosis, the Bioguard FCoV immunochromatography test was used. The data obtained were analyzed using the Chi-square statistical test, revealing a significant difference of 0.05 in the presence of FCoV according to sex. Regarding age, it was observed that patients between 0 and 6 months are less susceptible to the disease, as no positive cases were detected in this age group, unlike patients aged 7 months and older, who did present positive cases. No significant correlation was found regarding the weight of the animals.
