Summary:The present clinical case is an adult over 71 years of age, has 3 children, is retired, lives in the Mocache canton, reports that for 1 year he was diagnosed with arterial hypertension and takes 50 mg losartan for treatment. He does not present Allergies with respect to medicines or food, nor a surgical history. Within the family pathological history, his father is hypertensive. The patient comes to the office due to symptoms such as muscle cramps and blood pressure that is difficult to control, he is referred to the nephrologist and is diagnosed with stage 3 chronic renal failure. Vital signs, heart rate: 90 beats per minute, blood pressure: 160 / 90 mmHg, respiratory rate: 19 per minute. The comprehensive nutritional assessment is carried out. Weight: it is 79 Kg, Height: 1.62 m his reflex BMI 30.2 Kg obesity type 1. Within the nutritional background, he refers that he regularly consumes fried foods, sausages and meat products in only three meal times (the main ones), very little water intake. The type of diet that will be prescribed to the patient is a low sodium, normoprotein hypocaloric and low-fat diet, divided into 5 meal times (3 main and 2 snacks), this is a diet that will help control blood pressure values, obtain a weightloss.
