| Riassunto: | The present research work was carried out in the municipal slaughterhouse of the Ventanas canton, Los Ríos province, in the months of February, March and April 2023. The objective of this work was focused on determining the incidence of liver fluke in cattle. that are sacrificed in the municipal slaughterhouse. In addition, it was established to characterize the positive bovines according to the variables to be studied, being those; the age, sex and place of origin of the animal. The sample size was 300 cattle, the methodology used was carried out using the non-parametric statistical design (Chi Square), by post-mortem inspection. Of 300 sampled cases, 4 were positive, giving us an incidence of the disease of 1.33%. An incidence rate of 1.29% was obtained in males, while in females it was 1.38%. In the age variable, the highest range that predominated was the group of 28-36 months, in this case, of the 98 cases that were studied in this group, there were 4 positive cases, with the group with the highest incidence being 4, 08% In the origin we have Caluma as the place with the highest incidence of the disease, this being with 5.88%. The incidence of Fasciola hepatica in cattle slaughtered within the Municipal Camal of Cantón Ventanas during the months of February and March is concluded, giving us 1.33 percent. For this reason, it is recommended to carry out a correct deworming of cattle to eradicate this disease from continuing to spread in livestock production. Thus determining that it is very important to carry out this method and take into account the correct sanitary control measures that animals and their food must have in order to achieve quality livestock production. |
