Sumari:In this case study with the topic Cognitive distortions in a teacher of the elementary school "La immaculada" before the start of non-contact school activities due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are problems that cause discomfort in her work and family environment, the patient manifests a group of symptoms as results of the distorted thoughts that are generated by the feeling of restlessness and grief that she experiences before any event that considers it in a negative way, so the objective is to establish how the Cognitive distortions affect teaching and intrapersonal relationships, using psychological tools such as medical history, questionnaire, Ruíz and Lujan's Automatic Thought Inventory, Beck's Anxiety Inventory (BAI), under the criteria indicated in the DSM-5 and ICD-10 the diagnosis of this patient is generalized anxiety disorder, this is how it could be real ize a scheme of the psychotherapeutic process based on cognitive-behavioral therapy that through problem-solving therapy will modify the thoughts that cause anxiety and that lead to mental discomfort generating affectation in the personal, family and work environment.
