| Tóm tắt: | Pneumonia is a pathology with great relevance in the hospital setting, which is characterized by inflammation of the lung parenchyma, and pulmonary infiltrates in diagnostic studies, this disease also triggers a problem within the health area and is considered a disease very prevalent, which can be fatal mainly for more susceptible groups such as older adults. A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in order to determine the risk factors that affect the origin of pneumonia in the elderly of the Babahoyo gerontological center, from September 2017 to February 2018. The total number of 71 elderly patients who were isolated in the Babahoyo gerontological center was considered both in the population and in the sample; With the information obtained from both the survey and the interview and from the review of the H. clinics an excellent database was developed; As a result we have that crowding showed a percentage of 97%, smoking 96% and alcoholism with 94% and being the highest percentages within the risk factors gives a direct road to the origin of pneumonia, it was concluded that the sex with the highest incidence of pneumonia is men in an age range of 71 to 75 years with a percentage of 44%, on the other hand the staff-treating "auxiliary nursing" has a low knowledge about the prevention protocol of pneumonia. |
