Malnutrition has serious health consequences, such as increased infant mortality and reduced cognitive ability. According to a report from the World Health Organization (WHO), "maternal and child malnutrition is responsible for more than 10% of the global burden of diseases). It states that the diseases that develop In childhood they have a great impact, since they leave consequences that can lead to more diseases in adult life. Malnutrition needs to be addressed from multiple approaches, such as improving access to nutritious foods, nutrition education, and treatment of underlying diseases.
