Περίληψη:Does loneliness influence the mental health of an adult over 77 years of age from the Ricaurte parish? This question summarizes the paradigm of the following research conjectured during the execution of the pre-professional practices, which was validated as a result of a common factor presented by the people evaluated, a factor which was more intense in the study subject, that common element It was the feeling of loneliness. Loneliness is defined under two constructs, objective and subjective loneliness, the objective being social disconnection by the individual's own will or not; the subjective one, on the other hand, is the feeling of loneliness regardless of whether one is alone or not. Mental health, therefore, is the mechanism that allows the human being the correct development of compendia and abilities, the term mental health goes far beyond the fact of the mental pathologies that the individual may suffer. The main objective of this research is to determine the initial question, to define if loneliness influences the mental health of the elderly, which was corroborated by analyzing those results obtained through the implementation of a series of psychological techniques and tools for their assessment and data collection, results which indicated that subjective loneliness works as a trigger for depressive symptoms while objective loneliness as a result of depression plays the role of a maintaining and reinforcing factor.
