Summary:Contraceptive methods have currently represented an excellent solution to many problems around society such as unwanted pregnancies, high incidence of sexually transmitted diseases, high rate of maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality however its use has been questioned by both social factors as cultural that carry the population. The general objective of this research is to determine the factors that influence the choice of a contraceptive method in women of childbearing age from 14 to 30 years in the Antonio Sotomayor health center. In this research project the deductive method was used, since it allowed to collect information in order to go from the general to the most specific and with a qualitative modality since it is based on data collection through database and survey. The type of research is applied, field, descriptive and transversal type because it seeks to generate knowledge, allows the observation of the facts, allows to describe the characteristics and analyze the data obtained. In this present investigation it was obtained as a result that in the Antonio Sotomayor health center the factors that most influence women of childbearing age to choose a contraceptive method are the social factors with an incidence of 71% of which the knowledge factor of the Contraceptive methods had the highest incidence with 36%. It was concluded that the level of knowledge of contraceptive methods in women of childbearing age is very important as it allows them to choose responsibly. One of the most important recommendations in strengthening the degree of knowledge about contraceptive methods.
