Sumari:This study is aimed at an adult over 58 years of age with kidney failure who has been receiving peritoneal dialysis for 2 years and 4 months, in whom, through a meticulous process, it was possible to identify how her emotional state was affected, her relationships interpersonal due to the therapies implemented for his Renal Insufficiency. Through a research process, the emotional problems that he presents when suffering from a catastrophic illness were identified. A qualitative approach is applied, implementing tools and techniques such as clinical observation, the Hamilton anxiety test, and the Beck depression inventory. To obtain a structural diagnosis. A therapeutic scheme is proposed to help manage negative emotions in the patient: The result of the tests is: Moderate episode major depressive disorder and Generalized anxiety disorder. The patient's mood has improved since the application of the psychotherapeutic plan whose approach has been Beck's cognitive behavioral approach and the implementation of Jacobson's relaxation therapy. This therapy consists of causing mental tranquility by suppressing muscular tension. This has allowed the patient to face negative thoughts and take a resilient attitude towards the disease she suffers from.
