| Summary: | Introduction: Preeclampsia is a pregnancy-induced hypertensive disorder that acts clinically after 20 weeks of gestation. In Ecuador, preeclampsia and eclampsia are the first reasons of maternal death from 2006 to 2014, and represent 27.53% of all maternal deaths. Objective: To identify the relationship between nursing actions and the prevention of preeclampsia in pregnant women who attend the Lucha Obrera Sub-Center of the Babahoyo canton of the Los Ríos province in May - September 2019. Methodology: The inductive - deductive method was used, with a qualitative - quantitative approach, with a field study, applied, descriptive, transversal. Unstructured and direct scientific observation techniques and surveys were used, the questionnaire was applied as an instrument. Made up of a sample of 60 pregnant women. Results: Of the 60 pregnant women surveyed, the result was that 53% if they attend prenatal consultations promptly, and it can be noted that 47% do not attend prenatal consultations, with a differential margin of 4%. It was shown that 30% of pregnant women know the headache as a symptom of preeclampsia, followed by 25% with swelling in the lower limbs. In a large percentage, respondents said they had no knowledge about preeclampsia with a result of 78%. Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a need for more efficient and timely education by the nursing professional, to make more home visits where the pregnant woman feels she has the health center staff and the pathology can be prevented. |
