Actualmente los adultos mayores en nuestro país, no tiene un seguro de vida ni tampoco una atención médica que esté acorde a sus necesidades y sus afecciones permanentes, no existen profesionales altamente capacitados y especializados en esta área, no existen programas de trabajo para este sector poblacional, diversos estudios estadísticos confirman que en el mundo hasta la actualidad se ha incrementado el porcentaje de habitantes adultos mayores con inicios graves de hipertrofia prostática, desde ese punto experimentan depresiones profundas y varias enfermedades causales y derivadas de la próstata. Existe una estrecha relación entre el envejecimiento y las enfermedades acumuladas por los adultos mayores, las múltiples incapacidades manifestadas tanto por sus edades como potenciales de los que llegan a tener estos síntomas constantes y molestos a corto y largo plazo, la naturaleza crónica y progresiva de dichas incapacidades y el desproporcionado consumo per cápita de recursos para la atención de la salud por parte del adulto mayor a causa de su condición vulnerable. Lo más importante para mejorar la calidad de la atención en la de detección precoz de la hipertrofia prostática en pacientes de 45 a 60 y el sistema de atención de la salud y cuidado social es adecuar los recursos con que cuenta cada institución de salud y para nuestro caso y objetivo el CENTRO DE SALUD A“Hnos. Guevara” del Cantón Pedro Carbo de la Provincia del Guayas cubre las necesidades de la población que sufre de hipertrofia prostática con calidad de la atención y estrategias de detección precoz para su mejor eficacia.
