Sumari:The objective of this study was to evaluate how pain therapy influences the quality of life of cancer patients treated at the IESS Babahoyo General Hospital, during the period from October 2024 to May 2025. The relationship between pain management and the physical, emotional, and social dimensions of patients was examined in order to assess the impact of treatment on their overall well-being. The results revealed that pain and its side effects in treatment have a considerable impact on patients' quality of life, decreasing their functional capacity and causing symptoms such as fatigue, nausea and problems falling asleep. Likewise, a strong emotional impact was observed, marked by anxiety, fear and hopelessness, which indicates the importance of having specialized psychological support. However, social support was found to be a critical factor in patients who enjoy strong family support and maintain an optimistic spiritual outlook demonstrating greater resilience. In addition, the relevance of strengthening the relationship with health personnel was highlighted, seeking to improve communication and empathy that is presented with medical care.
