Summary:The present case study is based on the nursing care process of a newborn with neonatal asphyxia, at the University Hospital of Guayaquil in the city of Guayaquil. Under these parameters, the general objective was: To carry out the nursing care process, to an Rn with neonatal asphyxiation in the NICU area of the University Hospital of Guayaquil. The Nursing Care Process is carried out in a systematic manner following an order from its assessment, until its execution, putting into practice theoretical, practical knowledge with ethical, and moral values where the nurse will perform dependent activities together with the doctor and the family member. independent, planning a plan of care based on the nursing diagnosis to obtain results throughout the hospital stay of the patient. The nursing care process, the general objective is a general assessment of the neonate, the planning of nursing actions where we will have the domination of the risk of suffocation and the deterioration of the gas exchange that are the nursing diagnoses to be described, where execute these actions, following up on the treatment designated by the doctor evaluating the results obtained, for the recovery of the newborn, improving his hospital stay, thus being in good health conditions for hospital discharge.
