Izvleček:The element Silicon (Si) within agricultural production plays a multifunctional role in what refers to the cycle of crop development, that is, from sowing, to harvesting. This element fulfills the roles of: Unblocker of nutrients in the soil, by means of its ions, it removes the elements that generate toxicity in the plants, by adding silicates to the plants, it favors the production of phytoalexins (substances of great importance for the self-defense of these ), inhibits the excessive transpiration of water and any mineral substance found in the leaf mass, reinforces the cell walls of the leaves, thus preventing the penetration and infection of phytopathogenic fungi. Silicon in relation to the environment has the ability to trap the molecules of carbon dioxide (CO₂), resulting in a decrease in environmental impacts; contributing in this way to the promotion of a friendly agriculture with natural resources
