Summary:A difficult situation that has arisen in society and that is increasing over time is the abuse of psychoactive substances by adolescents, which are illegal and affect family relationships. In the current investigative work, the case of a 21-year-old young man was studied, who presented problems in social, work and especially family areas due to the consumption of drugs such as heroin, marijuana and alcohol. During the investigation, the patient showed signs and symptoms of dependence due to the abuse of psychotropic substances, which was verified through observation and the instruments used such as the clinical history and the application of psychological tests; Using the diagnostic criteria indicated by the International Classification of Diseases ICD 10, the similarity to F11. In the (mental and behavioral disorder due to opioid use), characterized as a mild use disorder that has an impact on behavior alteration. The purpose of the case study is to considerably reduce the abuse of the consumption of psychotropic substances, specifically heroin, marijuana and alcohol, with the application of different appropriate techniques to the patient where it was possible to reduce the physical symptoms of anxiety, as well as the prevention of relapses, therefore helping to improve their quality of life.
