Summary: | The present experimental work was carried out in Barraganete, Echeandía canton, Bolívar province. The objective of the work was to determine the effect of the use of ivermectin against endoparasites in male mongrel canines older than six months of age, by means of coprological analysis using the direct technique. The materials used were slides, physiological serum, microscope, Giemsa stain. The research methodology I used is the descriptive method of observation, non-parametric experimental. The results obtained allow us to conclude that stool samples were taken from 32 canines before the administration of oral ivermectin and after oral ivermectin, concluding with a total of 64 samples in the Barraganete enclosure, Echeandía canton, Bolivar province. The samples collected were used for laboratory tests with the fecal smear method and flotation technique, also used staining with lugol, direct observation and which identified 32 positive cases of endoparasites in canines in the samples analyzed before the application of ivermectin, in the samples analyzed after the administration of ivermectin, 26 positive samples were identified for the presence of endoparasites and only 6 samples were negative for the presence of endoparasites. Therefore, it is necessary to take measures for the elimination of gastrointestinal parasites from all canines in the Barraganete enclosure, since there is a risk of zoonosis of endoparasites to other species. |
