| Summary: | SUMMARY The paratrioza is an endemic pest, carrier of mycoplasmosis that has as particularity to affect crops of the Solanaceae family, in the province of Carchi and in the zone of study influence affected to vast extensions of potato crops in the canton Montufar. Studies show that it is infected in its adult stage and in the state of nymphs 4 and 5, in which it crosses its pedipalps (mouth of the insect) destroying the serous layer and cuticle of the living tissue of the plant and inoculates the mycoplasmosis of this form becomes a vector pest. Physiologically, mycoplasmosis in the early stages of infection affects the basal aes especially phloem whereby all the photosynthates and energy reserves of the plant are mobilized, in a second phase this micro organism affects the areas of cellular differentiation causing the potato culture the absence of buds of cellular differentiation, as a consequence absence of stolons therefore does not allow to develop the tubers. The adults of the Paratrioza measure approximately 2 mm, their appearance is similar to that of an aphid, their habit is jumper and feeds on the sap of the plant. The adult female can oviposit more than 500 eggs over a period of 21 days. The average time required for egg to adult development is 15 to 30 days at a temperature of 27 ° C. This insect by its nature can move itself within the plantation and migrate to other nearby, can reach flights up to 1.5 km high, which makes it virtually impossible to stop its movement. The transport of contaminated material through the human being is an important form of dispersion over long distances. |
