description The current case study was carried out with the purpose of analyzing the influence of the audiovisual content uploaded to the Facebook and Instagram networks for young people between 14 and 25 years old at Babahoyo city. The purpose of this research was to find data that shows whether these digital platforms cause any effect among people who are in the aforementioned age range. In the conceptualization of the theoretical support, the contributions of several authors who years ago had investigated and shared their analyzes in relation to social networks, audiovisual content and other arguments related to the general theme of this study are evident. On the other hand, it gave way to the application of an instrument and techniques for data collection, in this case an observation sheet, interviews and surveys were used, that is, this research work is of a mixed nature (qualitative and quantitative). Considering the geographical extension at Babahoyo city, a sample of 383 young people between the age ranges 14 to 25 years was established for the application of the surveys, the observation file was based on 100 pages divided between Facebook and Instagram, in addition, 3 interviews that provided relevant data to carry out this research. Respondents answered in relation to the influence that audiovisual content uploaded on social networks causes on them and their preferences in correspondence to genres, schedules and interactions, secondly, the interviewees corroborate and provide relevant information in this study.

El propósito de esta investigación fue encontrar datos que evidencien si estas plataformas digitales causan algún efecto entre las personas que están en el rango de edad antes mencionado. En la conceptualización del sustento teórico se evidencian los aportes de varios autores que años atrás habían investigado y compartido sus análisis en relación a las redes sociales, contenido audiovisual y demás argumentos que se relacionan a la temática general de este estudio. Por otro lado, se dio paso a la aplicación de un instrumento y técnicas para la recolección de datos, en este caso se utilizó una ficha de observación, entrevistas y encuestas, es decir, este trabajo investigativo es de carácter mixto (cualitativo y cuantitativo). Considerando la extensión geográfica de la ciudad de Babahoyo, se estableció como muestra 383 jóvenes entre el rango de edad 14 a 25 años para la aplicación de las encuestas, la ficha de observación se basó en 100 páginas divididas entre Facebook e Instagram, además, 3 entrevistas que proporcionaron datos relevantes para llevar a cabo esta investigación.
