סיכום:The aim of this research work is to improve the teaching - learning process through a manual of reading comprehension techniques to strengthen this process, both in the educational system, and especially in the students of the 6th year of General Basic Education of the Unit Educational José Maria Estrada Coello. That positively affects the development of critical and analytical thinking of them; to achieve this goal, a field investigation was carried out, in order to determine the level of impact that comprehensive reading has on the educational process. The development of this work starts from the antecedent of the problematic raised. Followed by the theoretical framework to establish viable and concrete criteria that surrounds the research theme based on authors. We used surveys directed towards students, teachers including parents, presenting in a summarized way the information obtained through the use of statistical methods and graphics.
