Being one of the first causes of morbidity and mortality in Ecuador, where a large percentage is evident in adults over 40 years of age. The objective of this study is to identify how lifestyle influences affect Diabetes Mellitus in patients attending the Las Malvinas, Ventanas, Los Ríos Health Center, October 2018-April 2019. The methodology used is quantitative, the method was inductive, field, descriptive cross-section, for the execution of this work was taken a sample of 62 patients, a questionnaire of 16 questions was used as a tool. Among the most important results is that 70% have little knowledge of their pathology, in terms of lifestyle carbohydrate and fat intake by 80%, also 80% do not maintain physical activity, referring to daily glucose control 80% do it sometimes. It is concluded that there is a deficit of knowledge about Diabetes Mellitus and the consequences that can lead to not being diagnosed in time. We recommend the institution especially the nursing staff to carry out control programs and educational talks about Diabetes Mellitus and the inadequate lifestyles that influence these patients. |

We recommend the institution especially the nursing staff to carry out control programs and educational talks about Diabetes Mellitus and the inadequate lifestyles that influence these patients.Es importante la mediación de enfermería, donde se destaca su rol principal en la promoción de la salud y prevención de complicaciones en Diabetes Mellitus por la influencia que aplica en el estilo de vida inadecuado de cada paciente, ya que representa una problemática de salud pública, siendo una de las primeras causas de morbimortalidad en el Ecuador, donde se evidencia un gran porcentaje en adultos mayores de 40 años. El objetivo del presente trabajo es identificar de qué manera influyen los estilos de vida en la Diabetes Mellitus en pacientes que asisten al Centro de Salud las Malvinas, Ventanas, Los Ríos, Octubre 2018- Abril 2019. La metodología empleada es cuantitativa, el método fue inductivo, de campo, descriptivo de corte transversal, para la ejecución del presente trabajo se tomó una muestra de 62 pacientes, se utilizó como instrumento un cuestionario de 16 preguntas. Entre los resultados más importantes se refleja que el 70% tiene poco conocimiento de su patología, en cuanto a estilo de vida la ingesta de carbohidratos y grasas en un 80%, también el 80% no mantiene actividad física, referente a control diario de glucosa el 80% lo realiza a veces. Se concluye que existe un déficit de conocimiento acerca de la Diabetes Mellitus y las consecuencias que puede conllevar al no estar diagnosticado a tiempo.
