Resumo:SUMMARY The importance of the characterization of a cocoa farm lies in the knowledge it brings about the quality of the soil, its nutrients, and how they contribute to the increase of profitability or productivity, which is why in this study a theoretical-practical research with the purpose of determining the nutritional bases that cocoa must possess in order to develop a quality fruit. In addition, the president of the Cocoa Producers Association "Buscando el futuro", where she met, was interviewed that their crops are mainly agro-ecological and that production has now declined; In a practical way, a soil analysis was done in which the lack of certain essential nutrients for the development of the crops was determined, for which the necessary recommendations were made to help the association and the families that make it up.
