Beskrivelse
Summary:This research was carried out with the purpose of exploring the technological advances related to assisted reproduction in poultry, focusing mainly on the artificial insemination (AI) technique. This technique has revolutionized the world of reproduction, offering new perspectives and solutions in genetic improvement, thus contributing to the conservation of biodiversity and poultry production. In order to make known the challenges faced by producers and conservationists of endangered species, this study was carried out by compiling information from multiple authors who shared the same approach, which allowed a comprehensive approach to the subject, providing a complete vision based on the available scientific literature, in order to contribute to research advances that promote the preservation of genetic material. Among the challenges associated with AI is the underutilization of semen (quality, viability and volume); for this, it is necessary to consider the management of the birds to be trained for this process and thus guarantee fertility levels. Successful cases have been documented over time; however, inconsistent fertilization problems and difficulties in the effective implementation of the technique have been evidenced. Emerging trends indicate a promising future for poultry artificial insemination, therefore, to ensure success, it is necessary to consider a number of factors to ensure the success of the technique.
