| Resumo: | Type II diabetes mellitus is a chronic and incurable disease with a longer hospital stay and a health care tool is relevant as the application of the nursing care plan model. A patient hospitalized with Diabetic Foot from the General Martín Icaza Hospital in the San Vicente area of the city of Babahoyo has been taken to carry out a retrospective and descriptive study using a sample of 30 Clinical Histories identifying their characteristics. The content of the theoretical framework presents diabetes mellitus II as a disease caused by a metabolic disorder of carbohydrates characterized by partial or total reduction of insulin. One of the most feared problems is long-term complications such as diabetic foot affecting the quality of life of patients. This is a clinical disorder associated with neurological and vascular abnormalities of the lower limbs. Specialized treatments with high cost are benchmarks to propose risk prevention of diabetic foot and apply nursing care for their well-being. The nursing care process is a process of patient-centered care planning in a logical and systematic way through assessment, planning and intervention and evaluation. Self-care and nursing care measure diverse needs from a holistic sense, the main objective of the nursing care plan is to ensure that people in need receive the best nursing care available. |
