This research project, conducted in Manta, Ecuador, seeks to shed light on the psychological and social aspects of this experience through the case study of R.A, a 22-year-old who lost his sight at the age of 8 due to an accident. This study is based on a qualitative and descriptive approach, using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and psychometric tests to gain a comprehensive understanding of the patient's life and, by extension, other young people with visual impairments in similar situations. Furthermore, it delves into his medical history, psychomotor development, sensory functioning, and affectivity, providing a complete insight into his experience. |
