Description
Summary:Domestic violence is present in every home regardless of the type of family it is composed of, due to socioeconomic disadvantages, causing behavioral, social and emotional adjustment problems, which result in asocial behavior, depression, anxiety and problems of low self-esteem. The most predominant forms of abuse include psychological abuse such as frequent insults, confinement to one's room or home and scolding, which affects the level of self-esteem of an adolescent. For such circumstances, the present case study aims to report on domestic violence and how it affects the self-esteem of the adolescent under study, in order to provide the appropriate tools to prevent further damage to their mental health, through psychotherapeutic interventions and the use of the appropriate cognitive behavioral therapy model at the individual level, with the use of instruments such as direct observation, psychometric tests as well as the Hamilton anxiety scale, Rosenberg test, for the determination of possible diagnostic criteria.
