The diagnosis showed that teachers do not know the values, components or resources that the educator María Montessori applied and recommended in her books. In this investigation, a survey and an observation was made of educators working at the levels of initial education. A theoretical review was also carried out about the Montessori method, of applications that have been made in schools in several countries, including Ecuador and the benefits obtained if applied in the educational day were systematized. An important stage was the study of books written by Montessori, as well as the observation of video materials. Given that the initial education curriculum aims to develop in children independence, autonomy, that are self-critical, that develop all their skills by themselves, it is understood that the application of the Montessori method can help.
