| Özet: | Stephanurus dentatus is a parasite that often occurs in tropical and subtropical regions. It has a suitable temperature for its development. We can locate this parasite in the kidneys or perinephric fat as an adult. The present investigation was carried out in The municipal slaughterhouse of the canton Ventas province of Los Ríos where we evaluated the incidence of the parasite, the objective of the research was to macroscopically identify Stephanurus dentatus in the kidney and perinephric fat in slaughtered pigs through daily inspection. This contrasts with a previous study that reported the prevalence of porcine parasitosis by region, the lack of detection of Stephanurus dentatus may be due to the effectiveness of the preventive measures applied to the animals before slaughter. The present research work was carried out in the slaughter center of the canton Ventanas, in this center it is stipulated that there is an average population of 73 pigs per week, so it is estimated that the number of samples to be taken would be 279 samples because The field work will be carried out in one month, in which we will evaluate sex, age, race and origin. According to the studies carried out through daily inspection and incision, it is concluded that there is no incidence of the Stephanurus dentatus parasite in the perinephric fat and kidneys in the municipal slaughterhouse of Ventanas since all the pigs examined were negative cases. It is recommended to avoid the entry of animals whose health status and origin are unknown |
