Riassunto:The decrease in visual acuity is a factor that affects people that suffers from ametropias and influences the quality of life, since it limits the performance of daily activities, and is even more frequent in people who spend more due to their Working time doing jobs that require precision. The objective of the research is to demonstrate why the decrease in visual acuity influences the quality of life in people between 30 and 80 years, Rural Parish of Pimocha Los Ríos, May-September 2019. In this investigation, the method of analysis was used, which allowed us to make an in-depth study of the problem that arises in the rural parish of Pimocha in relation to visual acuity and how it affects the quality of life of people. Through the field research, the use of the multiple-choice questionnaire survey technique and the medical history with the data collected during the evaluation with optometric equipment, it was determined that the decrease in visual acuity directly influences the quality of life of people between 30 and 80 years. Of the 70 respondents, 35 are dedicated to domestic work. It can be concluded that the presence of presbyopia affects 56% of the total population, farsightedness affects 46% for the right eye and 44% for the left eye, so that with age it limits the performance of near and far activities, therefore, hyperopia with age limits the performance of near and far activities by not being corrected.
