Čoahkkáigeassu:The present investigation was carried out in five communities of the Cotopaxi Province with the objective of characterizing the productivity and distribution of alpaca fiber, beginning with the selection of animals, 12 per community, 60 animals for the investigation. Data was taken from existing records to define the variables fiber diameter and wick length, productivity and distribution. Obtaining the following fiber diameter averages: Apahua 16.06um, Maca Chico 23.20um, Maca Grande 23.06 um, Sacha 22.19um, Salache 32um in relation to the length of the fiber Salache obtained 15.66cm and Maca Chico 9.16 cm, determining a fleece weight in Salache of 4.25kg per animal, Maca chico 1.89kg the same that are marketed in two companies Kum and Pacocha directly from the communities valued according to the classification of the fiber. In this sense it is recommended to carry out the shearing in a technified way differentiating the mantle and the panties otherwise it is mixed and we obtain a greater amount of short category that has no value
