Evaluación de la Eficiencia y Funcionamiento del Biodigestor Anaeróbico de Flujo Continuo en la “Granja Porcina Carlitos

In the investigation the principal objective was the determination of the efficiency and operation of the anaerobic biodigestor of continuous flow for the treatment of the residues in the Porcine “Carlitos” Farm, located in Santo Domingo Tsáchilas of Province .of The environmental variables evaluation was made of a continuous type anaerobic biodigestor, fed with pig manure and water,. In addition, the amount of available manure of 158 kg of Kg/day of the farm was obtained. A simple sampling was also carried out analyzing physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of the waste water that enters and leaves the biodigestor for the use of water for irrigation. The results of the physical, chemical and microbiological characterization of the wastewater, without treatment and after the treatment were compared with Ecuadorian regulations, the same indicate that the samples analyzed under the parameters of Electrical Conductivity, Total Dissolved Solids and Hydrogen Potential were are within the allowable limits at the two monitoring points, while Total Nitrogen, Biochemical Oxygen Demand and fecal coliforms exceed permissible limits. Through these results a proposal has been made with alternatives to optimize the operation of the current biodigester, avoiding the excessive accumulation of manure and minimizing the use of excessive water use during the cleaning operations of the pens and the farm in general.
