| Crynodeb: | The media are obliged to develop spaces for participation, since this is required by the Organic Communication Law (LOC). In this way, there is a need to investigate whether citizens participate in the media and the importance of interaction. The main objective of this research is to determine citizen participation in the communication processes that carry out in San Miguel radio, according to the Organic Communication Law (LOC). In addition, the research approached elements such as the conceptualization, categorization of citizen participation and the link of the radio with the different guilds. It was identified that San Miguel radio provides spaces for participation and it is available to the inhabitants. For the development of the project, a qualitative approach was used based on the experiences and perspectives of the different representatives, the first group composed of guilds, institutions and neighborhood presidents that are constantly linked to the radio, while the second group composed of neighborhood presidents and unions that maintain a low level of participation in it, also an observation sheet was used in San Miguel radio. Among the results obtained, the opening offered by the radio was evident, but also the listeners gave proposals for the development of more radio programs, in order to everyone can participate in its contents as children, youth and adults; the citizen participation stands out as a fundamental right provided by the media |
