Gaia:The present research work was focused on the problem of the scarce evaluation to identify the level of development of laterality in children of Initial Education, which is a worrying problem, since by not developing laterality children can present problems for temporal-spatial orientation and the acquisition of reading and writing processes. The objective of the research was to evaluate the state of laterality in the children of Initial Education of the Educational Unit "Rosa Zárate" as a basis for the application of playful as a pedagogical strategy. The methodology that was applied in the investigative process was framed in the quantitative approach, descriptive level, through the observation technique and the laterality evaluation instrument of Harris (1977), applied to 50 boys and girls of Initial Education. The results of the investigation made it possible to show that 33.33% of children presented poorly affirmed laterality and 12.50% crossed laterality and in the case of girls, 34.62% presented poorly affirmed laterality and 11.54% laterality. crusade. Therefore, a proposal based on playful strategies was implemented that has generated favorable results, reducing the percentages of children with poorly affirmed and crossed laterality by an average of 17 percentage points.
