Implementación de la metodología en mantenimiento productivo total (TPM) en la Empresa Pública de Aseo y Gestión Ambiental de Latacunga (EPAGAL) para los vehículos recolectores de desechos con el funcionamiento del sistema de carga lateral.

The excessive increase of cost in the enterprises and their productive processes or services (equipment, machinery, work, time, capability and knowledgment of the human resources, etc) is caused by the lack of maintenance manuals and well defined operative methods of work. This is the reason because the Public Enterprise of cleaning and environment managment(PECEM) doesn´t provide the residue collection in Latacunga city, it has breakdowns in those vehicles with side load functioning. The enterprise has two vehicles but only one functions due to the technical unkowledgement about management of work methods and the incorrect preventive maintenance. There is a unique vehicle, which is funtioning, it works in different shifts around 24 hours dairy, it is due to the lack of a correct maintenance plan. For that reason, to solve that problema was proposed the implementation of a managmente system based on a methodology of total productive maintenance. The objective of this implementation is to improve the environment conditions, manage a culture of prevention in order to identify the potential difficulties for their excessive costs, so the socialization of this methology will be given from high levels of management until people who are operators, they work with the drivers jointly to manage the collecting system of side loading, it consists on promising to all people of the enterprise to value the equipment and machinery by taking part in the process of residue collection, elaborating work methods, guides and instructions manuals, all of them will be executed by the maintenance boss. The implementation will measure the operative efficiency of maintenance according to the chronological order of failure found in the vehicles, the result was 14% of reduction of costs, failure, wasted time, stopped working without programming, its purpose is to get zero breakdowns, the application of this methodology in total productive maintenance is inclusive but many enterprises don´t fullfil planned activities with efficacy, therefore the workers´training is important to use the instruction manuals efficiently in order to get a correct usage of managment system, their results will be gotten aroud 12 months. This methodology will benefit to the operators, if there is fewer costs of corrective maintenance, the opertors¨efficacy will increase, in this way the promise to maintain equipment correctly and evoid stopped working.
