| סיכום: | This project was carried out in Cotopaxi Province with a total of 304 animals with the objective of evaluating the effect that the photoperiod causes in production and reproduction on sheep of these sectors taking into consideration the two seasons of the year which are summer (May 2017- October 2017) and winter (November 2017- August 2018). It was considered as reproductive data what comprises birth rate, fertility index and kilograms at birth. As a productive variable, the researcher reviewed the production of wool in kilograms per productive unit. For the study, the researcher considered in this case herds in production which are distributed in six sectors with different altitude like latitude. Also, the georeferencing of the Cotopaxi province were obtained where the geographical location of each of the communities where records of light hours ("heliofania"). The collected data indicate the variation that exists between the levels of light hours in the province, at this case the minimum index was registered about 56.76 light hours per month; on the other hand, it is appreciated that the maximum index was 148.73 light hours; subsequently, each variable was used to meet our objectives. According to statistical analysis, it was determined that there is a significant difference in the "heliofania" among the different communities of the province where the herds are developed in production. It was also possible to determine that there is no significant difference between the birth rates by community and finally it was determined that wool production per productive unit varies according to the time of year (winter-summer) since there is a significant difference. The average levels of light hours recorded, in most of the study sectors, are always lower in the months corresponding to the winter season as well as in the communities where the index of light hours was lower. |
